28 August 2007
Dear Colleagues,
I thank all of you who have responded to my mail of 11 June, 2007 with your valuable additional inputs. Using these inputs and the original list, Dr. K. Sekar and his colleagues Sarani Rangarajan and Sowmiya Raj have now prepared an updated list. A PDF file containing the list is attached. Papers on computational neurobiology have now being distributed among relevant institutions. By and large the following criteria have been used for inclusion in the list.
The bioinformatics content of the paper should be 50% or more. Most often we have left the decision to the authors. Occasionally, I have myself taken the decision.
Publication in peer-reviewed journals, preferably ISI listed, are meant to be in the list. A few presented in standard meetings organized by IEEE etc. have been retained.
In papers with foreign authors, only these in which the Indian authors' affiliation to Indian organization is mentioned (not as present address), are included.
We have not been able to include references in which the information provided is substantially incomplete.
I am sorry to indent on your time once again. However, I would appreciate receiving help one more time in relation to the publication list. Please go through the revised list, particularly those from your laboratory or institution, carefully and let me know corrections, deletions, additions etc. When doing so, please bear in mind the following points.
Please check again if your papers and those of others adhere to the criteria listed above.
Please see if we have inadvertently left out some of your publications.
I am sure we have made some mistakes in the way the references are listed. For example, just now I realized that the name Somdatta Sinha has been listed as Somdatta, S. instead of Sinha, S. There could be many more such or other mistakes. Please point them out of us.
Please complete the references where they are incomplete.
Many papers have been described as in Press, some even belonging to 2006. Please provide us the full reference to such papers. In the final version, it is desirable to have no entry described as in Press.
We have tried to star publications which appear more than once as they have authors from more than one institution. Some have escaped our attention. Please point them out to us.
I once
again apologize for bothering you once more. Please let me have your comments
and inputs before 30 September, 2007.
With my best regards,
Yours sincerely
M. Vijayan
